Job Summary The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and integrating complex systems at every stage of their lifecycle. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation with an eye toward accessibility, optimization, and security, within the infrastructure. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, results-driven individual who thrives in a cross-team collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staff
Use expert-level configuration, administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high availability of infrastructure and systems
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system engineering tasks
Minimum Qualifications
Linux and Windows architect experience
Virtualization expertise (vSphere, ESXi, Hyper‑V)
Azure and Office 365 Tenant administration
Storage Services and Platforms (e.g. Dell PowerStore, PowerVault)
CompTIA Security+ Certificate
Bachelor’s degree from an accepted and accredited college or university with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or equivalent work experience
Four (4) years of system engineering experience or minimum seven (7) in a senior system administrator role
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post‑Start is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Operating system administration (e.g. RHEL, Windows Server)
Configuration and administration of endpoint solutions (e.g. SCCM, Intune, SolarWinds, ServiceNow)
Automation and Scripting experience (e.g Powershell, Python, Ansible)
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
VMwareCertifiedProfessional or VMwareCertified AdvancedProfessional
Summary Pay‑Range
Level 4: $129,200 - $190,000
