Per Diem Gastroenterologist
NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, a proud affiliate of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, is currently seeking a Per Diem Gastroenterologist to provide consultative services to patients in our skilled nursing facility on Roosevelt Island. This is an excellent opportunity to care for a medically complex and diverse patient population while collaborating with an experienced interdisciplinary team in a supportive and collegial environment.

Our 815‑bed facility, located on Roosevelt Island, offers a welcoming environment, advanced technology, and specialized programs including memory care, stroke recovery, and wound management. Coler’s mission is to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals with a wide range of healthcare needs.
Responsibilities
Provide in-person gastroenterology consultations for long‑term care and post‑acute patients.
Evaluate and manage gastrointestinal conditions such as liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, dysphagia, nutritional concerns, and other digestive disorders.
Collaborate closely with Primary Care Providers, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, and Nutrition Services to deliver coordinated, holistic care.
Document assessments and treatment plans thoroughly in the electronic health record.
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings as appropriate.
Requirements
Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology
Active New York State medical license
Prior experience in skilled nursing, long‑term care, or geriatric gastroenterology preferred
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
Dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
Schedule & Compensation
Per diem position with flexible scheduling
$225‑$250 Per Hour
