Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is searching for a Director of Nursing | Operating Room. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center–Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between BSWH, USPI, and local physicians. It provides a wide range of medical and surgical services to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private inpatient rooms, a full‑service ED. The hospital specializes in inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other specialties.

Responsibilities:

The Operating Room Director of Nursing is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goals. The OR Director oversees surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services, assists as RN Circulator and Scrub Tech as necessary, and identifies cost‑effective systems to support the department's business. They establish effective working relationships with all constituencies, use continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement to remedy issues, and work with Senior Management to meet facility goals.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Baccalaureate degree preferred.

Five (5) years’ experience in surgery as circulator.

Two (2) years’ experience in surgery management, including pre‑op, intra‑op, and post‑op care.

Current Texas RN License (BLS). CNOR preferred.

Independent decision‑making skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians.
