This is a hybrid position based in Smyrna, GA. About the role

You will play a crucial role in supporting the Procurement Lead by actively managing the execution of the Meeting & Events Policy that align with the business, consistently delivers value, optimizes commercial leverage, mitigates risks, promotes sustainability, and executes effectively with suppliers, striking a balance between investment and results. Who you’ll work with

You will work with Business Services / T&E Category Lead to facilitate coordination across FFG category in the areas of Sustainability, Preferred Vendor, Buying Channel, and Supplier Relationship management, along with other internal and external stakeholders. What you’ll do

Engage in sourcing and negotiation, Supplier Relationship Management, strategic alignment, risk management, cost optimization, and collaborative thinking to enhance UCB’s effectiveness Negotiate the MICE related contracts in his/her area of responsibility Build solid relationships with the extended stakeholder ecosystem to fully understand the business and their requirements Advocate the existing Meeting & Events Booking Platforms and enable an improved stakeholder experience Align with the Procurement Lead on negotiation strategies for projects Engage with the COE on analytics Support the Sustainability & Risk department in the relationship with the suppliers in their realm of influence Comply with existing regulatory and audit requirements Translate the Meeting & Events Policy within the business Drives the Meeting & Events from a Procurement side Supplier Segmentation Identify potential suppliers by applying target vendor lists or supporting in the identification of alternatives Handle Full Request for Information / Request for Quote processes with excellence using the procurement vetted tools Consider the market trends, the competitive landscape and the dynamics around the supply markets Ensure collaboration with the Legal department for setting up the appropriate terms Ensure collaboration with Strategic Meeting Solutions Lead Negotiate Terms and Conditions with suppliers Safeguards the KPI’s and SLA’s as negotiated in the contracts Ensure sustainability is included as a criteria for Supplier selection Approve POs (within threshold), and other compliance activities as defined by different SOPs and governance bodies Minimum requirements

Bachelor's Degree Minimum 10 years of experience in a Meeting & Events / Procurement related role such as travel agencies, airlines, meeting and event agencies, or corporate travel management. Fluent in English Preferred requirements

Collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment Strong negotiation skills and ability to build lasting supplier relationships Managing procurement projects, timelines, and deliverables Proficient in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, understanding of legal terms and implication Proficiency in data analysis and procurement software Great communication skills - ability to think creatively, engage in effective communication and promote change with internal stakeholders and suppliers Team player, fostering diversity and inclusion, capable of operating in cross-functional, cultural teams Internal applicants should be in their current job for at least 12 months, must meet performance standards and are not on formal corrective/disciplinary process (PIP), warning, final warning, or compliance warning letters within the last 12 months.
