Overview
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray and other imaging equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. This role requires expertise in patient positioning, radiation safety, and image quality to provide accurate diagnostic images in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as prescribed by physicians.
Position patients properly and operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images.
Follow radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
Verify patient identification and review medical histories related to imaging procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records and document all procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Assist radiologists and other healthcare professionals during specialized imaging procedures.
Maintain and calibrate radiology equipment and report any malfunctions.
Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort during imaging procedures.
Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Current certification and licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, and radiation safety.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in multiple imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy).
Prior hospital or outpatient imaging experience.
Certifications
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
Current state license (if applicable).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
