Overview The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes to meet production requirements of quality and quantity at the lowest possible cost. The role requires expertise in electrical engineering and works closely with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Engineering Services, Safety, and other departments.
Responsibilities
Responsible for new product introduction (NPI) including time studies, equipment selection, line balance data, tooling specifications, manpower requirements, and all aspects of process development.
Develop methods of operation to increase efficiency and reduce costs by studying product designs, materials, machines, and workflow.
Design and develop fixtures, jigs, and tools to facilitate efficient assembly or processing of products.
Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, safety, ergonomics, etc.
Establish production schedules based on production requirements and available resources.
Resolve throughput, quality, and plant operation issues with Operations Management.
Maintain accurate records and reports of labor utilization, machine performance, production levels, defect rates, etc.
Assist in maintaining ISO certification.
Support electrical applications such as troubleshooting electrical wiring and testing motors and control devices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of professional electrical or mechanical engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read, interpret, and execute electrical schematics.
Leadership experience with technicians and manufacturing personnel.
Strong communication and training skills.
Experience with electrical concepts such as wiring layouts and design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
