Role Overview Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. Reports to: Director. FLSA: Non‑exempt. Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Certifications & Licenses
CNA 1 License : Successful completion of high school Health/Science curriculum or completion of introductory/prerequisites of Health/Science classes for Nursing program or successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program or 1‑year previous Nurse Aide experience or successful completion of two semesters of Nursing program.
CNA 2 License : Current Texas CNA certification with current listing on the Texas Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry/Certified Nursing Assistant required; three years full‑time PRMC nurse aide experience and in good standing may be substituted for certification.
Current American Heart Association BLS certificate
Required Skills
Basic computer knowledge
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Essential Functions
Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
