Medical Technologist - Laboratory - Part Time - San Juan Cancer Center
Part-time position in the laboratory at Montrose Regional Health (San Juan Cancer Center). The role involves performing various tests and ensuring accurate results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

About the Laboratory Department The laboratory at Montrose Regional Health is fully accredited by the Joint Commission of Accredited Healthcare Organizations and registered by the State of Colorado. It is staffed by certified medical technologists and technicians working under the supervision of two full‑time pathologists. The laboratory at MRH is a fascinating, busy, and interesting place.
Job Responsibilities Performs various chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Applies techniques used in the fields of blood banking, hematology, serology, chemistry, and morphological examinations. Records test results, performs quality control, takes remedial action, and may also engage in research.
Qualifications Associate Degree in chemical, physical or biological science, medical laboratory science, or equivalent education and training. Applicants without current certification must take and pass the ASCP, NCA (MLT, MT, MLS or CLS) or equivalent exam within 6 months of hire. Must have at least 3 months of training in each specialty in which the individual performs high‑complexity testing. Training may include previous employment, on‑site or as part of an education curriculum. Skills: Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
