Are you a passionate and dedicated Optometrist with strong diagnostic skills and a passion for delivering a great patient experience? Then we have a spot waiting for you. We are seeking an engaging Optometrist to work on a per diem (PRN) basis who wants to make an impact, to join our team and support our new vision clinic. As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for providing direct primary optometric healthcare services and participate as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you’ll do
Perform comprehensive eye and vision tests
Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma
Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to sight issues based on each patient’s specific case and medical history
Prescribe medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses
Refer eye doctors and ophthalmologists when patients need to undergo surgery or in cases of severe eye injuries
What you need to succeed To be a productive member of our team, you will have a pleasant and professional demeanor, self-starter, ability to work independently, strong communication skills and the ability to preserve confidentiality. You will also have the following:
Must be a licensed Optometrist for the practice of optometry in the State of Texas, licensed through the Texas Optometry Board.
Minimum 1 year of work experience as an Optometrist
Must have an in-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects
Must have a strong attention to detail
Bilingual in Spanish, Pashto, Burmese, or Rohingya is a plus
eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience preferred but not required
