Financial Reporting Manager with a publicly-traded international leader in manufacturing
Summary
The Financial Reporting Manager is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting, as well as providing expert guidance on technical accounting matters and ensuring all Securities and Exchange Commission filings (i.e., 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.) are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate and timely consolidated financial statements and reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP on a quarterly and annual basis to ensure compliance with SEC reporting and disclosure requirements.
Provide technical accounting guidance in specific subject matters to the Company’s business unit finance and accounting teams, treasury, tax, supply chain, and other stakeholders.
Partner closely with the Director of Financial Reporting and the Corporate Controller to ensure accounting analysis and conclusions are appropriately documented within technical accounting memos.
Provide strong process documentation of key close processes to allow cross training and effective re-performance.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
Assist with the quarterly tie‑outs of specific footnotes of the 10Q/10K, including the statements of cash flows.
Assist with the quarterly tie‑outs of press releases and related earnings materials, ad‑hoc investor presentations, etc.
Partner with the paper manufacturing facilities and converting facilities finance leadership to determine appropriate accounting and providing timely analysis to the business units to make strategic decisions as needed.
Participate in special projects (e.g., purchase accounting and annual goodwill impairment analysis) and initiatives and provide ad hoc support and reporting as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Business.
Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is preferred.
6+ years of relevant experience.
Subject matter expertise and/or a passion for corporate accounting and financial reporting.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving capability.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.
Business partnering and cross‑group collaboration skills; ability to steward large groups of diverse stakeholders, gather different points of view, and create recommended approaches, influencing across multiple functions and levels in a complex, global organization.
High level of integrity and values to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
Inquisitive, proactive, and self‑starter who is results oriented.
Experience with S/4HANA and/or Central Finance is a plus.
Experience with Workiva and/or Blackline is a plus.
