Laboratory Supervisor
Baylor Scott & White Health invites applications for the Laboratory Supervisor position.
Job Summary Location: BSWH BUMC DOWNTOWN DALLAS TX
Department: Core Lab
Shift: Evening 1pm - 9:30pm Monday - Friday with rotating weekend duty
Preferred Experience: MLS with ASCP or equivalent certification, minimum 5 years experience with increasing responsibilities and personnel skills
Essential Functions of the Role
Supervises the work of assigned subordinates engaged in pre‑analytical, analytical, and/or post‑analytical phases of testing.
Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel.
Assists in employee selection, orientation, training, evaluations, discipline, and discharge.
Develops policies and procedures related to laboratory staffing and scheduling.
Communicates and escalates staffing issues or other concerns to management promptly.
Monitors the inventory system to ensure necessary supplies are available in proper quantity.
Assists in implementing quality assurance programs and maintains records that document compliance with regulatory agencies.
Reviews quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance records, and associated corrective action.
Assists with preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
Experience: Minimum 4 years, including supervisory experience
Certification/license/registration: ASCP or equivalent laboratory technologist certificates (see list below)
