Position Description The Ice Skating Rink Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests at the rink. This position is seasonal, beginning in November 2025 and ending in February 2026. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ice-skating and working in a dynamic, guest-focused environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise skaters on the ice to ensure they follow safety rules and regulations.

Identify and address any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions on the ice.

Assist skaters during falls or incidents and contact first aid staff if necessary.

Provide excellent customer service to ensure a great guest experience.

Assist guests with ice skate sizing and rentals.

Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Demonstrate a commitment to Nashville Zoo's mission and values.

Qualifications Skills

Advanced ice-skating ability.

Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and ice skating.

Ability to self-direct work tasks while ensuring safety and productivity.

Education / Experience

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Responsibilities

Ability to work outdoors, often in cold temperatures.

Ability to stand / skate for an entire 4+ hour shift.

Work Schedule

Typical hours are between 5:00pm to 9:30pm.

Temporary position begins on November 11th, 2025 and ends on February 8th, 2026.
