Join the sell‑side loan syndications team that structures and executes leveraged finance, middle‑market corporate, commercial, real‑estate and franchise transactions. The Syndications group resides within the Specialty Banking division and focuses on lead‑agented, active book‑runner roles. The team works closely with relationship management to ensure marketability of transactions, provide pricing and structuring guidance, and support pitching activities for new financing opportunities.
Opportunity The group develops syndication strategies that support the credit approval process, prepares marketing material such as confidential information memoranda (CIM), lender presentations, term sheets and mandate letters, and maintains administrative‑agent responsibilities on a post‑closing basis.
What you will do
Help determine optimal capital structure for clients and jointly pitch debt solutions and other capital‑markets products.
Cover structured finance, franchise finance, mortgage warehouse, entertainment and real‑estate units; expertise in two or more areas is preferred.
Negotiate and arrange multi‑bank revolving credit and term loan facilities that reflect market pricing, covenants and other terms.
Stay abreast of market conditions and trends, providing market feedback and advisory services on transaction structure and pricing.
Provide periodic market updates to clients, relationship managers and credit teams.
Prepare and present syndication materials including CIMs, term sheets, lender presentations, financial models and other marketing documents.
Arrange bank meetings and conference calls with potential lenders and present materials/transaction details.
Select lenders for the bank group and determine commitment allocations.
Negotiate and review legal documentation such as credit agreements with clients and participating lenders.
Ensure documentation reflects agreed terms and includes market provisions, adequate agency and other protections.
Act as primary liaison between client and potential lenders during the syndication process and post‑closing in an agency capacity.
Assist Relationship Managers in preparing and presenting internal concept memos and credit memorandums for syndicated transactions.
Provide opinion on liquidity/salvageability of transactions and underwriting risks in credit committees.
Build and maintain a network of prospective syndicate banks, including local and regional banks and syndication trading partners.
Manage ongoing portfolio of agented transactions, maintaining administrative agency functions such as data sites, financial reporting, lender information requests, amendments, waivers and annual lender meetings.
Support Group Head with operational procedures, account and finance correspondence, vendor management and recruiting/staffing.
Other responsibilities as directed by Group Head or Capital Markets Head.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Minimum 6 years of banking experience.
Minimum 2 years’ sell‑side capital‑markets experience.
Additional Qualifications
MBA preferred.
Credit training preferred.
Prior commercial or investment banking experience preferred.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Competent with technology and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and as part of a deal team.
High degree of maturity, integrity and a hardworking attitude.
Attention to detail.
Compensation Starting base salary: $127,626 – $237,014 per year. The position is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
