Real Estate Valuation Principal
– Withum
Seeking an experienced professional with 8+ years in forensic and valuation services. This role can be based in Orlando, FL; Boca Raton, FL; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA, or the South Florida market (Miami / Ft. Lauderdale). The principal will work directly with accounting professionals performing accounting, auditing, advisory, and tax functions for a diverse client base.

Responsibilities
Assist audit, tax, and advisory teams in developing scope of work for real‑estate valuation engagements
Analyze and review physical and financial characteristics of properties
Perform site visits to collect data and make observations of real‑estate properties
Research and analyze real‑estate markets, economics, public records, and sale‑and‑lease data
Perform independent appraisals of real property for estates, financial planning, lending, litigation, financial reporting, and other uses
Assist audit teams in appraisal reviews of third‑party reports and perform independent validation of values and inputs used in audits
Attend industry and professional society meetings, conferences, marketing, and recruitment events as necessary
Take an active role in business development, client management, and project management
Demonstrate ability to supervise junior and/or trainee‑level staff as needed
Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field
8+ years of experience
Ability to commute to one of the office locations; experienced professionals with advanced credentials may be considered nationwide
Excellent interpersonal and computer skills
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe; Argus familiarity a plus
Certified General Appraiser qualified as Registered Supervisory Appraiser (or equivalent)
Advanced designation such as MAI, AI‑GRS, ASA, or advanced candidacy preferred
Expectations
Principal must be a Certified General Appraiser with supervisory qualification
Principals expected to hold an advanced designation or be a candidate for one (MAI, AI‑GRS, ASA, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits The compensation varies by location. A competitive benefits package and bonus program are based on individual and firm performance. Base compensation ranges (example):
California: $180,000–$230,000
Chicago, IL: $160,000–$200,000
