Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

HHM Talent is assisting an automotive client in Norcross, GA search for an Assistant CFO.

This position will be groomed to become the CFO in 1-2 years.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Corporate Controller / Assistant CFO

to oversee all accounting operations, financial planning, compliance, and internal controls across our multi‑rooftop automotive group. This role will serve as a key strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership, helping drive financial performance, optimize reporting, and support sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the current CFO during a planned succession

Oversee financial reporting, depreciation, contracts, and quarterly reviews

Manage financing, loans, and banking relationships

Oversee taxation, insurance, and estate planning support

Lead and mentor 40–50 accounting staff and 4 controllers, ensuring proper accounting practices and development

Implement and maintain accounting processes and internal controls

Support system improvements using Techion Plus and QuickBooks

Strategic Planning & Budgeting:

Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets and forecasts

Support long‑range planning and cash flow management

Analyze financial trends and KPIs, and advise leadership on risk and opportunities

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA highly preferred

Minimum 5–7 years of Automotive Controller experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP, dealership financial statements, and DMS system

Proven leadership experience in managing multi‑location or multi‑entity operations

Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency
