HHM Talent is assisting a client in Savannah, GA who is searching for an Interim CFO. Engagement: 12–18 months with overlap/training for permanent CFO. Compensation: up to $33,000/month (depending on experience and contract length); W2 (benefits eligible) or 1099 option available. About the company: Our client is a privately held, multi-entity organization operating across automotive dealerships, real estate, reinsurance, rental car services, and a retail real estate agency. This Interim CFO will provide executive-level financial leadership across all company entities during a transition period. The role will focus on stabilizing financial operations, overseeing strategic transactions, and supporting the grooming of the permanent CFO. The position requires both high-level strategic oversight and a hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach. Key Responsibilities
Oversee cash management, intercompany transactions, and treasury functions Ensure quality control of schedules, GAAP financial statements, and consolidated reporting Lead budgeting, compliance, audit preparation, and tax oversight Manage capital accounts, real estate schedules, and property taxes Support operational finance strategy across all entities, including reinsurance activities Participate in deal negotiations and operational finance initiatives Oversee financial system conversions and simplify umbrella entity structures Collaborate closely with executive leadership and the permanent CFO-in-training Qualifications & Experience
CPA preferred (strongly valued but not required) Proficient in QuickBooks and Power BI Must have extensive experience in multi-entity financial management, ideally including real estate or reinsurance Proven ability to manage complex financial systems and conversions Strong strategic, analytical, and executional skills with a hands-on approach Excellent communication skills and experience working in high-transparency, family-owned environments
