Northrop Grumman Space Sector is currently seeking a

Deputy Chief Engineer

that will be responsible for technical execution in the continued manufacturing and support, including modernization, of the Fleet Ballistic Missile hardware primarily produced at the Magna, UT facility.

This position will sit at our Magna, UT location with weekly assignments in Promontory and Clearfield, UT sites.

Responsibilities Currently seeking a

Deputy Chief Engineer

to be responsible for technical execution in the continued manufacturing and support of the Fleet Ballistic Missile hardware produced across campuses.

Collaboration with subject experts to manage/facilitate project technical requirements.

Dissemination of not only data but information.

Facilitates risk reduction and opportunity realization to support successful program goals within complaint procedures and standards.

Coordinates within the Tri‑party customers at a deputy chief level. This role will report to the Chief Engineer.

Job Duties

Coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders

Relevant technical and program requirements and propose advanced technical solutions to implement for complex challenges

Follow projects through to realization

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of 12 years of experience with a Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field with preferable experience in a government contractor environment—especially Tri‑party. 10 years experience with a Masters Degree.

Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DOD Secret clearance

Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA)

Technical excellence, collaboration/teamwork, and trustworthiness are required

Ability to see the larger picture for the system as a whole and contribute to decisions that will strengthen the long‑term success of the FBM program

Experience in EPLM, MRB, configuration management, qualification protocol, and change board presentations (Change summary as well as technical justification) helpful

Participation and experience in problem analysis boards is helpful

Demonstrated ability juggle multiple projects and to self‑manage a dynamic demanding workload required

Strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills are a must

Detailed scope/schedule /budget planning skills are required

Nozzle, Igniter, Case, RMA, and supply chain experience being sought

Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university

Salary and Compensation Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 – $221,500.00.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
