Mission The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
Position Summary The Chief of Non-Residential Client Services leads all non-residential programming at The Family Place, overseeing the continuum of outpatient, educational, and community-based services. This newly established C‑suite role is part of a strategic split from the former Chief Programs Officer position—designed to deepen focus, elevate quality, and enhance both client and employee experience across our externally delivered services. This role drives program strategy, manages offender services, high-functioning cross-disciplinary teams, and cultivates partnerships with schools, universities, and community agencies. The Chief of NR Client Services ensures that our mission extends beyond our shelter walls, reaching families and individuals through compassionate, trauma-informed, and outcome-oriented care.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Counseling Services
Oversee the delivery of high-quality outpatient therapy, counseling, and support groups for adults and children.
Supervise clinical leadership teams and ensure alignment with trauma-informed, evidence-based standards.
Expand access and innovation in therapeutic services, including virtual models.
Internship & Talent Pipeline Development
Lead the strategic growth of the agency’s social work, clinical, and education internship programs.
Formalize intern onboarding, supervision models, and university partner agreements.
Build a robust infrastructure for intern training and retention, positioning the agency as a teaching site of excellence.
Children’s Educational Services
Supervise the Education Department to ensure a strong curriculum and programming for children across all agency locations (residential and non-residential).
Coordinate services with clinical and case management teams to deliver wraparound support for child and family needs.
Community-Based Program Oversight
Provide executive oversight of FLP (supervised visitation and safe exchange) and BIPP (Batterers’ Intervention), ensuring contractual compliance and client-centered service delivery.
Deepen the integration of these programs with broader client services, ensuring strong referral pipelines and clear outcomes tracking.
Strategic Leadership & Integration
Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, working cross-functionally with Residential Services, Operations, Finance, HR, and Development.
Partner with the Chief of Residential Services to create a unified client journey across residential and non-residential programs.
Develop and report on program metrics, outcomes, and funding deliverables.
Engage with funders, donors, and community stakeholders to elevate program visibility and impact.
Key Projects Year 1
Launch a formal internship onboarding and tracking system in partnership with HR and Training as needed, including 8 weeks of structured learning opportunities and accompanying materials.
Conduct a full program review and evaluation of all core departments, including staffing alignment and curriculum continuity.
Evaluate and enhance external program outcomes and contracts, including relative reporting.
Establish clearer integration points with residential case management and safety planning.
Strengthen pathways for clients to move between programs and exit with long-term support.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Public Administration, or related field (LCSW, LPC‑S, or equivalent preferred).
10+ years of leadership experience in human services, clinical supervision, or educational programming.
Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and navigate complex systems.
Deep understanding of trauma-informed care, child development, and culturally responsive practice.
Strong relationship-builder with experience managing partnerships with schools, universities, or government agencies.
Mental And Physical Duties Duties are usually performed while sitting, with occasional periods of standing or walking.
Working Conditions Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work must be performed in the agency office and is performed in an office-like setting.
