What to Expect
We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled and detail-oriented Battery Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing and continuously improving battery cell-level testing processes, analyzing test data, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of advanced battery technologies. You will also play a key role in data analytics, root cause investigations, and maintenance and troubleshooting of robotic test systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our laboratory operations. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including equipment and automation design, data analytics, EHS, and test requestors, to streamline workflows, enhance lab efficiency, and minimize equipment downtime.
What You'll Do
Support daily lab operations, including equipment status tracking, test scheduling, and operational logging
Work with data engineering teams to ensure proper integration of lab systems with databases and internal platforms
Partner with test requestors and equipment team to streamline and automate test procedures
Troubleshoot issues related to lab equipment communication, control scripts, or system behavior, and work with relevant teams for resolution
Collaborate with the design and hardware teams to assist in maintaining and troubleshooting robotic systems used in lab workflows
Maintain documentation for all tools, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
Develop automation scripts and small UI tools to control and monitor lab equipment including cyclers, ovens, chambers, and chillers
Create tools for automated test execution, data monitoring, and test report generation
What You'll Bring
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
Strong interest in battery testing, lab equipment automation, and improving operational efficiency
Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in hardware-software troubleshooting
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Strong programming experience in Python, especially for scripting, hardware communication, and automation tasks
Familiarity with hardware protocols such as serial, Modbus, TCP/IP, or SCPI
Experience working with or supporting robotic systems in a lab or production environment (maintenance, not development)
Solid understanding of SQL or other databases for test data management

Expected Compensation $98,800 - $165,300/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
