Tax – Business Tax Services – Private Tax HNWI - Manager The opportunity EY Private Tax is a growing practice within EY, and you’ll see that growth reflected in your career. The team focuses on serving privately held companies and their owners and their families. Clients range from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies, all of which are high-growth private companies. EY offers cross-border and cross-functional teaming, with support designed to match your skills and experience. Your key responsibilities Depending on your skills and ambitions, you could manage various responsibilities, from technical planning and advising clients that include high-profile individuals and their families. You’ll be a trusted advisor and role model across multiple teams, developing a diverse network of colleagues. You’ll coach and develop a highly trained team while ensuring quality and commercial value. Researching tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies Translating complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables Building effective long-term relationships with clients and understanding their needs to provide tailored service Communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients Maintaining your reputation by updating and sharing technical and best-practice knowledge Managing, coaching and developing a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and ensuring access to the tools and opportunities needed to excel Identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes Skills and attributes for success To qualify for the role, you must have A bachelor’s degree in a related field, supported by significant tax, business or financial planning experience A CPA certification or membership in The Bar Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation Experience with flow-through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs) A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus A commitment to continuing your learning Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment Ideally, you’ll also have A proven record in a professional services environment Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues Strong analytical skills and attention to detail The ability to adapt your work style to collaborate with internal and client teams What we look for We’re interested in tax professionals with a genuine interest in providing outstanding services to some of the world’s most influential people. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package with base salary ranges: $106,500 to $195,100 (all locations); $127,700 to $221,700 in NYC Metro, WA, and CA (excluding Sacramento). Salaries depend on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Total Rewards includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k), and paid time off.
