As a Walmart Low-Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities by setting up and configuring various low-voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, and network cabling).

Working Hours Mon-Fri 8-5pm (OT as needed)

Compensation

Competitive wage of $26-$51 per hour (based on experience)

Essential Functions

Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).

Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.

Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability. Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes. Fixes any faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition.

Provides technical support and training to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems. Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.

Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.

Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Maintains accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities. Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed. Performs system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.

Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.

Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Physical Activities

The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.

Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment. Enters and locates information on electronic device.

Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Moves up and down a ladder. Moves up and down stairs. Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Observes associate, customer, or supplier behavior. Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Safely operates a motor vehicle. Safely operates large power equipment. Sits for long periods of time. Squats, kneels, or crawls for extended periods of time. Stands for long periods of time.

Visually inspects equipment. Visually locates merchandise and other objects. Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or electronic device.

Presents information to small or large groups and individuals. Visually verifies and reads information, often in small print.

Moves through narrow, confined spaces such as stacks of merchandise or supplies, storage areas, and closets.

Travel

Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring consecutive overnight stays.

Works or trains at multiple facilities or distant locations.

(Travel of extended duration, meaning seven days or more, is not required, except for management training and emergency situations.)

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Prior work experience in role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Training or certification in low voltage systems.

BICSI Installer Certification.

CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+).

Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems). OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training.

NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
