Adjunct Faculty POOL- History (2025-2026 Academic Year)
Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is inviting qualified candidates to join our adjunct faculty pool for the 2025-2026 academic year. Positions may be located on the Walla Walla or Clarkston campuses, with virtual options when available.
Responsibilities
Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place.
Prepare and deliver course materials, ensuring timely and meaningful feedback on assignments and exams.
Develop each student’s syllabus at the beginning of the quarter.
Conduct frequent evaluations of student performance and provide ongoing feedback.
Assign and submit grades in accordance with the college grading policy.
Maintain student records and grades in the College’s LMS.
Provide a minimum of one (1) office hour each week, reasonably accessible to students.
Maintain course outlines and syllabi reflecting program curriculum.
Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology.
Utilize appropriate instructional technology to support student learning.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in History or closely related discipline (may be substituted at the discretion of the college).
Demonstrated proficiency teaching at the college level for a minimum of two years (teaching assistant or adjunct experience may be considered).
Residence in Washington or one of the listed western states is required for remote work.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral Degree in History or related field.
Experience teaching at a community college.
Experience using instructional technology (LMS, digital whiteboards, Zoom, etc.).
Pedagogical experience across in‑person, hybrid, blended, and online modalities.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching.
Conditions/Terms of Employment Part‑time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment. Teachers must provide lawful employment documentation and transcript records. A criminal history background check is required. WWCC participates in E‑Verify and is a tobacco‑free institution.
Compensation Adjunct faculty compensation will be based on enrollment and the contract between WWCC and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. Refer to the adjunct salary schedule in Appendix C.
