Ensure departmental compliance with required SHE training and actively support the site Emergency Response Team. Maintain adherence to SHE programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Machine Guarding, Industrial Hygiene, Working at Heights, and Emergency Response. Promote Behavior‑Based Safety (BBSWA), monitor participation, report key SHE metrics to leadership, and conduct recurring compliance inspections. Perform daily inspections, guide leadership on findings, and conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for new or modified operations. Investigate safety/environmental incidents, document findings and risk ratings, support root cause analysis, CAPA development, and participate in MOC reviews. Issue safe work permits, train contractors on SHE requirements, monitor compliance, and support waste management activities and documentation. Collaborate with employees, contractors, engineers, physicians, and leadership to address safety concerns, ensure SHE compliance, and maintain housekeeping standards. What makes you a good fit

A.S. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related physical sciences preferred. Familiarity with NYS DEC, OSHA, and EPA requirements; experienced in incident investigation, risk assessment, and corrective action planning. Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion independently. Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation and facilitation abilities. Proven ability to collaborate across functions and with external stakeholders; capable of promoting a strong safety culture and accountability at all organizational levels. Preferred certifications include EPA Hazardous Waste, DOT Hazardous Materials, OSHA (10/30‑hour), and ISO (14001, 45001, 50001); experience in chemical manufacturing or industrial environments. $25.00 - $32.00 . This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.
