Adjunct Faculty, Drama
Location: Lone Star College – Cypress Center, 19710 Clay Road, Katy, TX 77449.
Employment type: Part‑Time, semester‑by‑semester, maximum five courses per academic year.
Salary: $55.44 per contact hour.
Purpose and Scope
To design, plan, and deliver Drama courses within the lower‑division curriculum, fostering student learning and academic growth. Essential Job Functions
Teach Drama courses at specified times and locations. Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement. Submit required college reports and forms promptly. Maintain a syllabus following institutional guidelines. Meet with and advise students via class, appointments, or electronic communication. Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Attend required meetings, trainings, and orientations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Mastery of course content and curriculum design. Leadership skills emphasizing collaboration and teamwork. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with diverse groups. Demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, and adult learning methodologies. Commitment to academic excellence and dynamic learning environment. Ability to develop and implement instructional approaches, including service learning, civic engagement, learning communities, and technology integration. Effective strategies to engage students in learning. Required Qualifications
MA or MFA in Drama or Theatre, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Drama. Benefits
