Your Day at Lowe’s
You will welcome customers, help them find products and services, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. While most time is spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, responsibilities may vary by department.
Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments based on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly, professional service.
Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
Down‑stock merchandise by replenishing empty areas on shelves.
Process orders and deliveries accurately.
Cross‑train in other store areas to deliver the best service.
Prepare merchandise (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Six months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information).
Six months experience using common retail technology (smartphones, tablets).
Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other necessary activities.
Minimum lift of 25 lbs unassisted, or >25 lbs with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bi‑lingual skills.
Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn & garden, lumber/building materials).

Travel Requirements
This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support of neighboring stores.
Working Conditions
Environmental factors vary by location—including inside and outside weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy or drafty conditions. Exposure to constant or intermittent noise, moving or shaking objects and equipment is possible. Associates must follow lifting guidelines (single lifts ≤ 75 lbs; team lifts from 75 lbs as needed; powered equipment use as required with proper training).
