The Universities of Wisconsin - System Administration seeks a contractor to help augment our Systems and Engineering team that oversees our IT infrastructure and server systems. The current team members are involved in a project to migrate servers and consolidate systems into new data centers. This position will work with the team, stakeholders, and clients migrating Windows and Linux machines and perform day-to-day systems administration work.

This Technician III position is expected to help manage, configure, and secure infrastructure composed of both Windows and Linux environments using tools such as VMware. The position supports a large environment with over 300 servers and must maintain high standards for data protection, availability, and performance.

Key responsibilities include managing support tickets, assisting users with server and application-related issues, and ensuring proper documentation and communication across teams and stakeholders.
