Prairie States Trucking Inc. is hiring: Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Sioux Falls

Perform various maintenance tasks and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment such as semi-tractors, front end loaders, motor graders, skid steers, milling equipment, street brooms, crushing and mining equipment, etc.

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, A/C systems, hydraulic systems, drive lines, differentials, electrical systems, etc.

Comply with company safety policies.

Complete work orders, checklists, and maintain proper maintenance records.

Complete DOT inspections and make proper repairs if issues are found.

Ability to be a self-starter and self-managed is a must; willingness to help others is also essential.

Communicate to the supervisor if repairs cannot be made in a standard amount of time.

Make sound financial decisions when ordering parts or supplies.

Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns as needed.

Must be able to lift heavy objects as needed; job environment is in a shop or outside of the shop on job sites, with the ability to work in varying weather conditions a must.

Position is M-F, hours 7 am to 6 pm; some emergency breakdowns or workloads could vary those hours. Some Saturdays may be necessary.
