Location: San Jose, CA Summary: The Manager, Hardware Design (Power) Engineering leads the creation of new power systems and circuits for a variety of industry applications. The role involves research, schematic and specification development, system simulation, testing, validation and optimization of power solutions. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of power solutions for complex projects across multiple domains. Plan, schedule, and manage engineering projects, including non‑technical elements such as people and finances. Interpret customer requirements and act as primary contract owner for power system deliverables. Manage relationships with key vendors, partners, suppliers, customers, contractors, and internal teams. Design, modify, and implement power systems that meet Celestica and customer needs, following procedures, regulations, and standards. Create schematics, bills of material, drawings, and diagrams; analyze and interpret data; produce reports and documentation. Provide support during manufacturing, finalize designs, and send production prints. Qualifications 7 to 10 years of related experience in power system design and development. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred). Proficiency in high‑efficiency DC‑DC power conversion design, simulation, control loops, and thermal design. Experience with schematic capture, simulation tools (LTspice, TI WorkBench, Cadence Allegro, DxDesigner). Strong knowledge of buck, boost, buck‑boost, LDO, hotswap, oring, load switch, E‑fuse, fuel gauge, fuse transistor, diode cell, and related parts. Experience in product development from prototype to mass production. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements. Typical Experience: 7 to 10 years of related experience; proven track record in power system design. Typical Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Salary Range: $112,380 – $175,157 per year.
