What You Will Be Doing We are seeking a passionate and driven Buyer to lead our Circular Economy & Sustainable Waste Solutions segment, a critical role at the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. This position is responsible for managing all waste streams across our North American production plants and distribution centers, including: Production waste: metals, plastics, liquids, and other by‑products Hazardous and non‑hazardous materials New initiatives: including the collection and recycling of used truck batteries You will play a key role in shaping our circular economy strategy, identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact, and unlocking value through waste recovery and recycling. This is a high‑visibility role with cross‑functional collaboration across multiple brands and stakeholders. We’re looking for someone who can own and drive this segment with confidence, someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment and is motivated by the opportunity to make a measurable difference. You will be accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of suppliers within the segment. You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross‑functional network during production and post‑production phases. This position will be based out of our Greensboro, NC headquarter location and will report to the Head of Energy, Innovation, and IT Purchasing North America. At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $72,600 - $89,700 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work‑related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
