The Office of Scholarships serves as the programming source to potential and current students for informational sessions regarding scholarship opportunities at Indiana University. The department is dedicated to awarding the maximum amount of scholarships available to the most deserving students while striving to be informative, responsive, resourceful, compliant, professional and sensitive to students, faculty and donor needs.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Provides support for campus partners in the University scholarships platform, Blackbaud Award Management (BAM). Designs, tests, modifies, and documents queries and reports in support of custom and vended software applications in the Office of Scholarships for the Bloomington Campus. Defines specifications, establishes data groups and tables, establishes, modifies, and documents electronic workflows/business process, and develops and maintains documentation. Contributes to decision support and workflow by interpreting enrollment goals and applying these decisions to the design, analysis and presentation of queries, reports and communication plans. Assumes a level of responsibility for campus compliance with scholarships operational standards. Provides operational direction and leadership for various scholarship programs, creating operational policy and plans for new and existing programs. Ensures donor intent, federal, state, and university policies and practices are upheld. Maintains knowledge of the federal, state, and institutional student financial aid policies and practices and integrates that knowledge into the systems and programs relative to this position. Responsible for a variety of complex tasks related to the oversight of scholarship processing operation, individual record information and dissemination, and the integration of these services with those provided within the Office of Enrollment Management. Provides specialized customer support through provisioning, creation of projects or workspaces within applications, and/or customizing products to customer specifications. Troubleshoots and analyzes problems and bugs in applications and products. Performs complex upgrades, releases, customization, and documentation of work according to team's established methodology. Performs programming, scripting, and modifications of application and products for corrective action. Collaborates with technical and functional business clients and teams within the central information technology organization. Contributes to project planning, objective formulation, task estimation and evaluation of customer requests. May train, mentor and provide guidance and feedback to less experienced staff. Education
Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science, business systems, or related field) Work Experience
2 years customer/application support, programming, or related experience Skills
Proficient in written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated problem solving skills Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities Demonstrated customer service skills Quickly troubleshoots and resolves problems Performs work independently with minimal supervision Effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Work Location
