Quality Electronics Engineer The Quality Electronics Engineer is responsible for managing quality improvement activities specific to electronic parts. This role focuses on conducting root cause analyses, developing preventive actions, and implementing best practices to meet internal and customer quality requirements. The engineer will be the primary contact for addressing customer concerns related to electronics and ensuring effective responses through direct engagement or targeted training.

Responsibilities

Performing investigation of all electric production failures with Production Quality engineer

Analyzing of Powerpack production data and reports

Steering system software / Hardware requirements analysis for New project

Analyzing of REPS, HECU, IDB, EMB communication network Failure / Diagnostic (DTC code)

Review supplier investigation report and send updates to HOT as needed

Attending electric part meeting with HM/MESA

Generate weekly reports for upper management including analyzing Production reject trends, Scrap cost and investigation updates

Generate monthly reports with upper management including analyzing Scrap trends, Chronic issue investigation updates

Follow NCRs through closure with PPACK Production Engineers

Support all customer meetings, daily, weekly, monthly with PQ Engineers

Support meetings with suppliers to deep dive investigation, globally (Electronic supplier)

Lead internal electronic teams meeting (US, China, Mexico)

Monitor and managing performance tester (Dyno, X-Ray, Vector Tool)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.

3 years of experience in a quality engineering role in the electronics or automotive industry preferred.

Experience working with customer quality standards and specifications.

Knowledge of electronic inspection techniques and measurement tools.

Able to provide an analysis of product failure type.

Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality standards.

Understanding of ESD precautions and electronics assembly best practices.

Ability to use statistical tools for quality analysis (e.g., SPC, Minitab).

Hands-on troubleshooting of electronic devices and circuits.

Strong organizational and time management skills

Collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork

Detail-oriented with a drive for continuous improvement

Ability to lead and influence without direct authority

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards.

Working Conditions

This position operates in both office and manufacturing floor environments.

May involve occasional travel to customer or supplier sites.

Shift work, including overtime and weekends, may be required based on production needs.

Physical Requirements

Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, steel-toed or composite-toed shoes, hearing protection and gloves as appropriate.

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.

Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching and lifting of materials and tools as needed (occasionally up to 25 lbs.)

Visual acuity to read technical documents and inspect small components.

Manual dexterity for operating control panels, handling electronic parts, and testing equipment.
