We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in General Surgery. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Mount Shasta. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality patient care and surgical services, making a significant impact on the healthcare industry.
As a Locum MD or DO in General Surgery, you will be involved in a variety of surgical projects, including emergency surgeries, routine procedures, and post‑operative care. Your role will be essential in maintaining the continuity of patient care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and upholding the highest standards of medical practice. Responsibilities:
Performing surgical procedures with precision and expertise.
Assessing and diagnosing patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
Providing post‑operative care and monitoring patient recovery.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Documenting patient information and treatment plans accurately.
Adhering to medical protocols, regulations, and ethical standards.
Participating in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
Responding to medical emergencies and providing timely interventions.
Requirements:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Board certification in General Surgery.
Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
Demonstrated experience in performing a wide range of surgical procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure healthcare setting.
Schedule: 24‑hour call shifts (7a‑7a), specific dates
Level III trauma
Annual Volume: ~800 trauma calls
100% ED call coverage
Endoscopies required
EMR: Cerner
Must be board‑certified or board‑eligible
Paid travel & expenses
