Description
Under general supervision, the MTM Outpatient technician is responsible for provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy. The technician will outreach patients using the electronic medical record platform to provide patient medication therapy management by completing adherence interventions and working with the pharmacist to address drug therapy problems. Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences. Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization. Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability. Must be able to work variable shifts to include weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to rotate to all pharmacy areas/sites. General responsibilities of The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician III may be required as well, and perform a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting and able to perform all general tasks in all areas of the pharmacy. They will assist the pharmacist in preparation of medications for patient use according to established procedures; facilitates in the distribution of medications including delivery of medications to the patient's bedside (Med-2-Bed program); performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions; maintains inventory levels; and performs other duties as assigned. Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in different pharmacy areas. Minimum Qualifications
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy. Minimum of Five (5) years of retail experience is required. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations. Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications
MTM Outcomes® and/or medication therapy management experience 340b regulatory knowledge and background. Comfortable with public speaking and able to promote a justifiable position. Flexible to address any pharmacy need that may arise, especially those that are unexpected or sudden. Special Conditions
