Job Description Purpose and Scope:
The PT Specialist III provides computer lab assistance to students, directs them to library resources, creates Student ID cards, checks in and out books and videos, administers TSI and online exams, and monitors exams. The position also sorts and distributes mail, answers phones, responds to routine questions, and maintains daily supplies and forms.
Essential Job Functions
Administer TSI and online exams
Provide computer lab assistance to college students, staff and general public
Provide testing instructions and information to students and faculty in person, by e‑mail and by phone
Operate a variety of equipment such as a PC, printer, photocopier and scanner
Create Student ID cards
Direct students to library resource materials and open computer lab
Check in and out books and videos for students
Maintain supplies and forms needed for daily operation
Assist students with printing in the library
Assist students with using the research databases
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Attention to detail
Ability to work on multiple projects
Ability to document expenses
Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. Employees sit comfortably and may occasionally walk, stand, bend, carry light items such as papers, books or small parts, or drive an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule and Conditions
Equipment: PC workstation, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed
Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Salary:
Hourly Pay Rate is $15.60.
