NAXAVIA
Job Overview
Join a high-impact defense technology initiative focused on advancing real-time aerial communication capabilities. This project is centered on a flexible, platform-agnostic system designed to deliver multi-level-secure data to operational environments. As the Senior Aeronautical Engineer, you will lead air-vehicle integration, transforming digital concepts into certified, airworthy systems that operate seamlessly across varied aircraft platforms. Key Responsibilities
Aircraft Platform Integration:
Lead engineer for integrating core hardware and interface modules onto diverse aircraft. Coordinate with stakeholders including test centers and manufacturers for system certification and airworthiness documentation. Perform system-level trade studies and conduct SWaP-C assessments to support design decisions.
Digital Design & Engineering:
Maintain and evolve 3D CAD assemblies and digital thread data. Integrate feedback into cross-functional teams for design alignment and system performance.
System Lab Operations:
Oversee setup and execution of integration tests using aircraft-simulated environments. Conduct pre-flight testing such as vibration, EMI/EMC, and thermal validation.
Flight Test and Deployment:
Develop flight test plans and safety analyses; support live testing as an onboard or ground engineer. Lead post-test analysis and implement lessons learned into subsequent system iterations.
Leadership & Execution:
Track progress using an integrated master schedule and provide updates on program readiness. Mentor mid-level engineers and support an agile, DevSecOps-based development culture.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract obligations. B.S. in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years in aircraft systems integration, or a Master\u2019s with 12+ years. Deep experience in structural analysis (FEM), wiring and harness integration, and military environmental standards. Proven success in transitioning systems from lab testing to operational deployment within DoD or USAF frameworks. Proficient in at least one of the following: CREO, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks. Familiarity with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, CAMEO) is advantageous. Active TS/SCI clearance. Preferred Experience
Familiarity with open-architecture avionics or military digital ecosystems (e.g., ABMS, CJADC2). Understanding of multiband SATCOM systems, cryptographic hardware, and cross-domain solutions. Experience creating or reviewing military airworthiness documentation. Agile, Scrum, or SAFe certification and experience in DevSecOps environments. Required Skill Sets
