Commercial Lender
will develop and manage commercial and industrial loan relationships, achieving customer service goals as outlined in the Commercial Services Department's annual operating plan.
Education and Experience
Minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field.
Specialized banking education and training is preferred.
At least five (5) years of related experience.
Preferred Skills
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and sales skills.
Thorough knowledge of bank commercial products and services.
Working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact commercial services.
Valid driver’s license.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop and manage commercial and industrial loan relationships, typically the largest and most complex.
Jointly establishes quantitative sales objectives with the assigned supervisor on an annual basis.
Solicits new business from existing and prospective customers and maintains ongoing relationships.
Provides timely sales information for inclusion in customer service and sales performance reports.
Monitors individual sales performance versus objectives and discusses results with the supervisor.
Serves as a member of the bank’s sales team, making group sales calls to generate new business.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of bank commercial products to assess customer needs.
Collects and analyzes financial, credit, and related information for commercial customers; approves or rejects loans within individual lending authority.
Prepares and presents loan applications to the appropriate committee.
Assists customers in obtaining specialized services and addresses inquiries regarding loan policy.
Maintains a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures impacting commercial services.
Prepares accurate records of customer service calls and meetings with prospective and current customers.
Monitors loan repayment activity.
Cooperates with other departments to ensure efficient processes and completion of essential tasks.
Participates in community activities that reflect favorably on the bank.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally ascends/descends stairs and moves through different floors.
Occasionally works in tight or confined spaces.
May remain stationary for prolonged periods, standing or sitting.
Must assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements such as precipitation, wind, or noisy environments.
Primary work is sedentary, involving sitting and standing.
