Job Overview
Capital Insurance Group is seeking a candidate to join our Actuarial Division. You will work alongside creative and entrepreneurial individuals across multiple cities. The role focuses on leading actuarial projects, contributing to business strategy, and identifying growth, product, and innovation opportunities.
Responsibilities
Lead multiple actuarial projects and own product lines (e.g., personal auto, umbrella, dwelling fire, commercial auto, farm).
Conduct sound pricing analyses supporting rate adequacy and trend identification as part of semi‑annual rate review.
Utilize reserving methods to project ultimate losses for quarterly reserve review.
Apply multivariate predictive modeling and machine learning techniques (GLMs, regression trees) to solve business problems.
Support enterprise risk management initiatives such as concentration risk analysis.
Create interactive dashboards with Tableau or similar tools to communicate insights.
Pursue continuous education and research, and share learnings with the team.
Take leadership roles, mentor junior team members, and provide feedback for development.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative subjects.
5+ years of actuarial experience with increasing responsibility.
Associate Member of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) required; Fellowship (FCAS) preferred.
Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational database design.
Experience with R, Python, or other statistical software.
Proficiency in Tableau or another data visualization platform.
Demonstrated ability to implement predictive modeling findings.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
Compliance with CAS professionalism standards.
Valid driver’s license may be required.
