Responsibilities As a Full‑Time Lead Accounts Payable Representative at HME Specialists, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with weekly AP disbursement selection under the guidance of the AP Supervisor or Manager.
Performing ACH/EFT and domestic wire processing while maintaining both virtual and paper AP files to meet company standards.
Supporting the AP workflow in Sage/Intacct, routing invoices and flagging any issues while providing peer support and guidance to the AP staff, including onboarding and training initiatives.
Reviewing invoices for documentation and coding accuracy, assisting with the implementation of the Sage/Intacct purchasing module, and maintaining accurate vendor files while responding to routine inquiries.
Preparing weekly AP Aging reports, processing employee credit card expense reports, and ensuring compliance with all established procedures.
Participating in special projects and upholding HME's mission and values to contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Candidate Profile To thrive in this role, you will need a strong foundation of skills and experience.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years in accounts payable or general accounting with at least 1 year in a lead or senior‑level role.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, vendor management, and payment systems.
Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Familiarity with 1099 processing and basic regulatory compliance in accounting.
Demonstrated ability to support and train team members effectively.
Education Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
