Summary The Interventional Radiologic Technologist operates digital equipment and performs complex invasive procedures by positioning patients and preparing contrast media to assist physician in diagnosis and treatment. Requires comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and works with contrast media, chemotherapy agents, radiation agents, cements, resins, and embolization agents. May perform procedures in other departments such as the O.R. Cath lab of multiple imaging modalities. Position is clinical 100% and may require mandatory call as needed.
Qualifications
State of Connecticut Radiographer license.
ARRT certification in Radiography required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Graduate from an accredited Radiography program.
At least 1 year as a Radiologic Technologist required; 1-2 years IR experience preferred.
