R&B Intermediate Care Unit Position Details:
Part-Time (24 hours per week) – benefit eligible Rotating Shift Hours: Day and Night Shifts on set schedule Days Shift Hours: 7am-7:30pm Nights Shift Hours: 7pm-7:30am Read heart telemetry monitors, answer phone, answer call lights, consult doctors as needed, direct visitors Monitoring EKG Rhythms & other vital signs Notifying nurse of abnormal findings on the monitor Trained to recognize normal and abnormal heart rhythms Assist with clerical duties such as answering phones, entering patient information, stocking supplies Patient Care High attention detail & Dependability needed – as the role requires someone to report changes rapidly to the nurse Experience
Monitor tech, healthcare, and/or PCT experience (preferred) Entry level position – great opportunity for someone interested in healthcare to gain valuable experience and exposure. Experience reading telemetry and/or EKG Requirements

Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. The telemetry unit is a 32 bed unit, with all private rooms. Patients are under continuous cardiac monitoring with clinical conditions that need closer observation and care. Preferred Qualifications
Assists with long term monitoring vital to patient care in the observation of patients with cardiac arrhythmia, suspected arrhythmia, drug intervention per floor with need for observation, and potential life threatening cardiac events. Initiates first response and responders to at risk patients. Responsibilities
Supports and demonstrates the continuous improvements of quality and service. Observes, reports, and documents patient‘s cardiac rhythm. Ensures that cardiac monitoring equipment is functioning appropriately. Minimum Requirements
