Avionics Test Engineer
for its Hypersonics line of business. The selected candidate will support the Thermal Protection System (TPS) of the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) program.

Primary Responsibilities
Perform test engineering activities to develop and maintain test systems for Leidos' avionics.
Implement DevSecOps and test-like-you-fly automated test methodology to ensure flight‑like testing.
Assist in planning, estimation, and scheduling of test development and execution.
Participate in program management and engineering review boards.
Participate in customer and supplier technical interchange discussions.
Work with system engineering to capture stakeholder requirements and deliver test systems that meet those requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical, Engineering or related field.
Minimum 4 years of related product engineering design and/or test system design experience with complex electrical, mechanical, optical systems.
Familiarity with Digital Engineering, DevSecOps, Test Automation, and CI/CD.
Experience with hardware‑in‑the‑loop and software‑in‑the‑loop system development.
Experience with Agile development techniques.
Working knowledge of statistics (process capability, confidence levels, mean time between failure, etc.).
Experience in test development: requirements capture, test system design, build, checkout, test software development, and validation.
Understanding of development, qualification, and assembly processes for aerospace products.
Ability to work full‑time on‑site at Huntsville, AL facility.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to engage technically with electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams.
Familiarity with business systems used for tracking parts, bills of materials, and part planning.
Basic understanding of standard product development processes including review and release.
Ability to understand electronic schematics and software (C, C++, VHDL, Java, Python, SQL).
Ability to design systems in various CAD tools (Mentor Graphics, Altium, Visio, DrawIO, Gliffy).
Electronics design experience in schematic capture, board layout, fabrication, and assembly.
Ability to understand mechanical drawings and use CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Strong computer skills with Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering or related field.
5+ years of test engineering experience on aerospace vehicle avionics or integrated systems.
5+ years in test system development for medium to high volume production.
Experience with RF calibration, alignment, and acceptance testing.
Strong experience with digital engineering techniques and tools such as Cameo, Influx, SQL Server, JIRA, Confluence, git/GitLab.
Solid digital electronics understanding with embedded system design/test experience.
Familiarity with multi‑threaded software development and test on Windows/Linux PCs.
Strong programming skills (Python, Matlab, C, C++, LabVIEW, TestStand, VHDL).
Digital electronics design experience with 8‑bit to 32‑bit processor development and CAD work (Mentor Graphics, Altium).
Experience with aerospace acceptance test and qualification process.
Experience with HALT/HASS.
Experience with Department of Defense, Military, Government, or Commercial aerospace‑related programs.
