Position Specific Description NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is looking for a Senior Engineer for the Steam Turbine Fleet Team (STFT) in Engineering and Operations Support Services (EOSS). This position will include responsibilities for leading technical support for a large fleet of steam turbines both fossil and nuclear units, with ownership of troubleshooting, work/outage planning, and fleet reliability improvements. Additionally, this role will include working on strategic initiatives with the ongoing Reimagine and FCWE efforts to reduce forced outage rates, O&M expense, and to improve overall fleet reliability and availability.
The STFT Senior Engineer will work with plant personnel in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues and will own and be accountable for a number of key tasks including:
Lead trouble shooting and technical decision making for fleet assets, ensuring consistency across the fleet.
Manage documentation and currency of Engineering Requests, Work Orders, OEM Bulletins and MOCs in Maximo.
Actively participate in strategic/proactive efforts to improve productivity and advance fleet reliability.
Support parts planning and annual budget planning, ensuring that plans account for fleet lessons learned.
Support the nuclear fleet with during regular refueling outages and special turbine projects.
Off hour support— Typically involves fairly frequent phone consultations.
This position includes providing onsite technical support during outages as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Turbomachinery engineering experience
Field engineering experience
Demonstrated troubleshooting and/or field experience
Strong communications/presentation skills
Six Sigma certification

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
