Job Description
Ideal candidates will target and publish in high quality journals on the UT Dallas and Financial Times 50 journal lists and demonstrate excellence in teaching with the ability to contribute at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A strong preference exists for candidates with well-developed data analytics and quantitative skills and a desire to further those skills. Teaching experience in accounting information systems, auditing, or financial accounting at the graduate and undergraduate is highly desirable. Candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate the ability to incorporate data analytics and quantitative skills into courses they have taught or can teach. Responsibilities
The Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy offers undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as a concentration in the PhD program. Faculty members also teach in the MBA, Executive MBA, and DBA programs. The school offers a strong mix of collegiality and scholarship along with a friendly and welcoming environment. The faculty is research-active, with recent publications in high quality accounting journals. Qualifications
Doctor of Philosophy degree with a major or concentration in Accountancy from an AACSB accredited institution or international equivalent. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of assistant professor/associate professor. Normally will have produced research in refereed and other professional journals to be named associate professor. Preferences
Both AACSB college and accountancy accreditation of program granting the candidate’s degree. Reputation of program granting the candidate’s degree. Reputation of program(s) where candidate might have been employed previously. Evidence of ability or potential to publish in top-level journals such as those on the UTD or FT50 list. A candidate’s record should support credentialing at the SA (scholar academic) classification under AACSB guidelines. Evidence of experience or ability to teach courses in accounting information systems, auditing, or financial accounting. Evidence of data analytics and quantitative skills. Evidence of the ability to incorporate data analytics and quantitative skills into courses they have taught or can teach. Overall quality of the candidate as indicated by letters of reference and personal contacts. Professional certifications such as CPA. Practice experience. About USF
