What this job involves As a Project Manager for our Retail Construction Projects Team at JLL, you will play a pivotal role directly supporting the delivery of challenging retail projects for a financial services client in the Midwest Region (IL, WI, OH, MI, IN, KY, WV). What your day‑to‑day will look like
Successfully manage and lead retail construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring highest quality delivery within timelines and budgets
Build strong relationships with financial services clients, stakeholders, and team members through effective communication and collaboration
Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and empowering individuals to achieve best performance
Develop comprehensive project plans, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues specific to retail environments
Track project finances, ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, and provide accurate cost forecasts for retail construction
Implement robust quality control measures to ensure deliverables meet highest standards and client expectations
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Midwest region
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum 4 years of experience in project management, preferably in real estate or construction industry
Proficiency in project management software including Microsoft Projects and Bluebeam
Strong knowledge of project management principles and best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
Proven ability to lead and motivate project teams, ensuring high engagement and performance
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to travel for project-related meetings and site visits as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in global and matrixed organizations
Knowledge of industry‑specific building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards
Familiarity with digital tools and technologies in project management
Experience leading projects within financial services, specifically retail banking
Advanced problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in fast‑paced environments
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
