Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) – Fargo, ND

Responsibilities
Assist Project Manager with development and preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports and estimates.
Assist Project Managers in design and construction of structural systems of reinforced concrete, wood, masonry, steel, steel joists and light gauge steel.
Assist in performing structural design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including water‑tight structures.
Assist design engineers in performing structural design of commercial, industrial and residential structures.
Perform construction observation and administration on projects.
Perform design drafting to prepare project drawings and details.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related field.
Successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering, or ability to complete within 6 months.
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and computer‑aided design software.
Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and curiosity.
Ability to travel as required.
All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records, etc.) if selected.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Revit.
Intern or employment experience related to structural design, building construction, or project management.
Physical Qualifications
Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist.
Occasionally lift, carry, push and pull light‑to‑moderate weight.
May lift and carry up to 20 pounds, rarely up to 50 pounds.
Ability to inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify defects or errors.
May be required to wear PPE, including flame‑resistant clothing, hard hat and protective footwear.
May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying by workload.
May require travel to off‑site locations, including overnight stays out of town.
