Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced and visionary Landscape Architect Project Manager to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a passion for innovative design and a proven track record in managing complex projects from conception to completion. The position will manage a diverse portfolio of projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the highest standards of design excellence. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively convey ideas, lead project discussions, and foster a collaborative environment. Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of landscape architects by providing guidance and support throughout all project phases to produce high-quality, innovative, and sustainable designs. Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Collaborate with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to develop and implement project designs. Build and nurture client relationships, including networking, preparing proposals, interviewing, and negotiating fees. Prepare and deliver project proposals, presentations, and reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations. Ability to manage project budgets and timelines. Continuously improve project processes and techniques. Develop and implement strategies to ensure team member growth and development. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture. Professional license or registration (RLA/PLA). A minimum of 7 years of experience in landscape architecture design and project management. Experience with various project types (e.g., parks, commercial, master planned communities, etc.). Experience with the entitlement process and site planning. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Experience with project budgeting and cost estimation. Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve project goals. Experience with sustainable design principles and practices. Knowledge of local regulations and permitting processes. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in managing and mentoring a team of landscape architects. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Must submit a portfolio that accurately represents experience and understanding of the design process, including built projects photos, presentation graphics, and other design materials that represent skill set.
