Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Radiology. In this role, you will provide temporary medical services to healthcare facilities in need. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating patients through various imaging techniques, ensuring accurate and timely medical care. As a Locum MD or DO in Radiology, you will be involved in a wide range of projects, including interpreting diagnostic images, consulting with other healthcare professionals, and performing interventional procedures. You will support healthcare facilities during staff shortages and peak demand periods, while enhancing your clinical skills and professional network.
Responsibilities
Interpret diagnostic imaging studies such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds.
Collaborate with referring physicians to determine the best imaging techniques for patient diagnosis.
Perform interventional radiology procedures including biopsies, drainages, and catheter placements.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of radiology findings to facilitate patient treatment plans.
Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and quality assurance standards in radiology practice.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment strategies.
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all aspects of medical practice.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in radiology technology and techniques through continuous learning.
Requirements
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Board certification in Radiology or eligible for board certification.
Valid state medical license and DEA registration for the practice of radiology.
Demonstrated expertise in interpreting a variety of diagnostic imaging modalities.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions under pressure.
Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in radiology reporting.
Flexibility to adapt to different healthcare settings and schedules as a locum tenens physician.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30a-5p
Weeknight and weekend call shifts available
Setting: Onsite
Daily Volume: 60-100 reads
Modalities: CT, MRI, US, XR
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
