Varsity Girls Lacrosse: Assistant Coach at The Bay School of San Francisco
Key Responsibilities
Assists the Head Coach with 1 ½ to 2-hour afternoon practices Monday—Friday, beginning no earlier than 3 p.m.
Attends all games (may require availability earlier than 3 p.m.).
Attends occasional athletic department meetings and school events as needed.
Has or obtains NFHS coach certification.
Clears LiveScan fingerprinting and TB risk assessment; completes mandatory trainings (first aid/CPR, concussion awareness, heat illness prevention, sudden cardiac arrest in athletes, mandated reporter, anti-harassment, bloodborne pathogen prevention). These trainings are provided and paid for by the school.
The Ideal Candidate
Strong athletic knowledge and experience in lacrosse; desire to build/maintain a successful program.
Preferably previous coaching at high school and/or college level.
Preferred experience playing at college level or above.
Professional and positive demeanor with colleagues, students, and parents.
Enjoys working with and developing teenagers as student-athletes and good citizens.
Keeps teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship as cornerstones of the program.
Finds resonance with the school's mission, especially diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Has energy to work in a small independent school environment.
Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
Provides and incorporates constructive feedback to improve the student experience.
Serves as a role model, understands culturally responsive coaching and the social justice dimensions of education.
Committed to anti-bias and equity work.
Strives for innovation, professional growth, and reinvention.
Possesses a valid CA driver's license and is willing to drive the school van to/from practices and games.

Duration: February 9, 2026 – May 8, 2026
Reports to: Director of Athletics
Compensation: $4,000 estimated stipend depending on experience.
Base pay range: $4,000.00 / yr – $4,000.00 / yr
Seniority level: Entry level
