Job Summary The Department of Ambulatory Dialysis seeks a full‑time Instrumentation Machine Technician / TH Medical Instrumentation Specialist to set up, maintain, and repair hemodialysis equipment, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide technical support to patients and staff.
Responsibilities
Prepare and repair hemodialysis equipment for treatments, monitor calibrations according to manufacturer guidelines, disassemble equipment, replace defective parts, reassemble, adjust and calibrate precision components, and analyze mechanical or electronic malfunctions.
Perform preventive maintenance and quality control on all dialysis machines.
Conduct staff teaching and in‑services on equipment use and maintenance.
Clean and sanitize equipment using appropriate agents.
Familiarity with dialysis water system, DOH regulations, and dialysis procedures.
Adhere to internal controls established for the department.
Collect water samples and perform water testing for chlorine.
Mix bicarbonate bath solution and record all work performed, including diagnostic findings and repairs.
Demonstrate concerns for cleanliness of self, tools, and work area.
Store and stock equipment safely and clearly date records.
Follow infection control guidelines as per hemodialysis standards.
Ensure compliance with department of health and manufacturer recommendations for environmental standards.
Transport equipment as needed.
Respond to equipment problems for home patients in a timely manner.
Set up bedside machines.
Be available to work on‑call shifts as needed.
Perform related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Certification in Fresenius H/K/T machines.
Certification in water treatment.
Experience working with RO system.
Work Schedule Variable days; 4:00 pm to 12:30 am (Full‑Time Evenings).
Salary Salary grade: SL-3. Salary range: commensurate with experience and qualifications.
