The Opportunity Factorial Energy is seeking an
Accounting Manager
to join our team in Billerica, MA. This person will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP. The position is responsible for managing journal entry preparation and review, account reconciliations, timely payment execution, and coordinating audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses strong communication skills. This role participates in process and system improvements within a fast-paced team that focuses on providing accurate financial information for internal and external use in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Manage and execute the daily operations of the accounting function, including journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, payroll review, managing month end/quarter end closing process, general ledger, and account reconciliations.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Coordinate the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal teams.
Help improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Assist with tax filings and liaise with external tax advisors as needed.
Participate in process improvement, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Prior experience in public accounting is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytic skills.
Detail oriented.
Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite is a plus.
